Off-Road Motorbike Seized in Baldock |
||
Dear all Baldock residents, I just wanted to update you on some actions taken last week by myself and your Neighbourhood Policing Team to seize an off-road motorbike that was being ridden around Baldock, putting our community at risk.
On Thursday (21 August), officers from your Neighbourhood Policing Team were patrolling a known hotspot for off-road bikes along Weston Way, Baldock.
๐ฎโโ๏ธ PC Collins from Team 1 spotted a petrol-powered off-road bike being ridden illegally along a bridleway through a field. The rider attempted to flee but was later stopped after emerging from the field, pushing the bike. โ The rider was found to have no insurance and was driving without a valid licence, which had previously been revoked. โ The bike was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. โ The rider was reported for multiple offences, which will be processed by our Camera, Tickets and Collisions Unit.
Baldock officer PC Durham, who completed the seizure, said:
โThis patrol was in the right place at the right time thanks to your information. These riders often have no licences and pose a real risk to the community, livestock, and themselves. Please continue to report sightings to help us keep Baldock safe.โ
I would encourage you to continue to report any incidents or information to us by the following means: ๐ป Filling out our online reporting form at herts.police.uk/report ๐ฃ Speaking to an operator in our Force Communications Room via online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact ๐ Calling our non-emergency telephone number 101 (in an emergency, always dial 999).
Thank you for your continued support in helping to tackle this local issue. | ||
